When to call

If you are wondering whether it is worth calling, it probably is.

When someone is in distress or unwell.
When a person needs help getting to shelter, health care or outreach services.
When someone would feel safer walking with company — home, to a bus stop, or to an appointment.
When tension is building and a calm person on the scene could keep it from getting worse.
When you want a wellness check on someone you’re worried about.

Call 911 for criminal activity, imminent danger, and serious medical distress.
